I had hoped to thro...Just stumbled on this story. <br /><br />I had hoped to through hike the PCT northbound, but probably won’t make it. Never dreamed of attempting all three long trails. My admiration for those long distance hikers who even finish one trail. For those interested, another long distance hiker named John Sullivan had a similar end of life. He had successfully finished the AT and was northbound on the PCT but went missing at about 12,000 foot elevation above Palm Springs, CA. His remains were discovered a year later by a hiking couple who were themselves lost. They used some of his gear to seek rescue.
